Remembering September 11
The Hampshire County Arts Council is asking everyone who is
part of the Hampshire County Community to share their recollections/experiences/reflections
of last September 11. The Arts Council will publish these remembrances
on our website during the month of September, 2002. A copy of
this project will be downloaded and given to the Hampshire County
Public Library.
If you would like to participate in this community project and
have Internet access, please email your submission to webmaster@hampshirearts.org.
Please include your name, age and phone number (not for publication)
so that we can contact you to verify your authorship.
Also, please indicate how you would like your contribution to
be identified on the web site. Use one of these options: 1) full
name and age, 2) initials and age, or 3) anonymous and age. You
might also indicate your gender.
Plans are being developed to include accounts from people who
do not have internet access. Written accounts can be mailed to
HCAC, PO Box 624, Romney, WV 26757. We will make every effort
to have all manual submissions published. Accounts from people
under 18 years of age require parental permission before publication.
We suggest your account/s include information regarding where
you were, what you were doing, and how you first heard of the
attacks as well as your thoughts or feelings at the time. Information
such as age and gender could be helpful for historians who might
use these accounts for reference in the future.
The first accounts received are
up on our site and will be bound into a book which we will present
to the Hampshire County Public Library in September, 2004.
