8th Period Art Class
at
Romney Middle School
One of art teacher Terry Murray's classes spent the 2003-2004
school year working on a set of six chairs borrowed from the
school library. The students searched through books and prints
for an artist whose style particularly appealed to them. They
then chose one specific work by that artist and tried to replicate
that work on their chair. Of course, the chairs first had to
be properly smoothed and sanded. Other students involved in
helping with needed touch ups were Joshlyn J., Meggan E., Michelle
K., Katie K., Dawn H. and Christina R.
Ms. Murray finished the chairs this summer by putting on a protective
polyurethane coat. Five of the chairs will be placed in the
school library and one will stay in the art room.
