Loy Cultural Center

a partnership forms.....

On Tuesday evening, June 8, 2004 members of the Loy Foundation and Hampshire County Arts Council met with Grove and Dall'olio Architects to approve plans for Phase One of the Bottling Works renovation.

While the group gathered outside, caterers from Gourmet Central prepared to serve dinner to educators associated with Romney Elementary School who were gathering inside to honor principal Steven Keener and vice principal Jack Newhouse who are retiring at the end of this school year.

Student-made decorations filled the back room where the educators would dine.

In the front room, architects discussed plans with a representative of the Potomac Eagle.

Phase One Plans

The first improvements include wheelchair accessible restrooms and a new entrance which will be easily accessible from a drop off area near the parking lot. The lobby will have display cases and the long hallway wall outside the restrooms will provide an exhibition area for art work. Most of these new facilities will be in an addition built on the west side of the original building.
