Fundraiser Quilt

 

February 8, 2003- Quilting Begins

Squares donated by Arts Council members and friends have already been sewn together, basted to a backing, and stretched on a quilting frame. Nancy Judd and Carol Hobbs began hand stitching designs onto the colorful blocks. They were joined by Isabel Plowright, Robin Pancake, Ann Warner, Sylvia Reisher, Bess Rexroad and Patti Perry. Nancy is offering all participating quilters the opportunity to sign their names on a special piece of fabric to be sewn on the quilt.

 

The finished quilt was raffled as a fundraiser for the Arts Council. We'd like to thank local businesses who displayed our Donation jars including Hampshire Coop, Mario's, Sheer Designs in Augusta, Dan's Antiques, Augusta Animal Hospital, J & K Styling Salon in Romney, Todd Michael's Unlimited, and the Capon Bridge Library. The quilt was on display at the Capon Bridge Public Library during January and the Romney Public Library during February. The drawing was held at our Annual Meeting March 19, 2004.
