Ice Mountain Writers in action at The New Brickwood Hearth 3/28/08
Written Word
Ice Mountain Writers is the writing arm of the
Hampshire County Arts Council.
We get together periodically to share our writing and good
conversation. Our members write poetry,
stories, songs, essays - whatever form of writing
interests them. We welcome all forms and all
writers, from children to seniors. We
charge no fee, but do ask that you join the Arts
Council to help support this website and the Council's
many activities in our community.
Our group performs
readings and songs for the public a few times each year. We
invite other writers to join us on stage from time to time. We
go into the schools and share our writing with students. Occasionally
we publish a collection of writings from our members.
We hope to connect with other groups in the state, such
as the West
Virginia Writers, to share information about what's
going on statewide in the field of writing. We will also be
featuring the writing of our members from time to time, as
well as discussions about writing. Guests will appear on the
site with interviews and opinions on writing. Suggestions from
the public on what to include in this site are welcome.
As a group we're relaxed and open to new writing and new
people. If you're at the point that you would like to share
your writing, or listen to others share theirs, come to our next
meeting and see what it's like. We'd be glad to have you.
